Questions to explore in small groups:

1. Which of the two models would you say best characterizes the writing process as we've been studying it so far (ie. writing via traditional modes of alphabetic text and word processing)?

2. In light of Beach and Jenkins' discussion of the "new skills" related to digital writing, how would you revise these writing process models?  In your revisions, attend to Jenkins' discussion of performance, appropriation, and collective intelligence.  How do these fit into the process?

3. As teachers of writing in its many forms, digital included, how can we design learning situations that allow for the practice of these "revised" processes of writing, even though our classrooms are not online?
